FUJIFILM Dimatix(R) Inc., the world's leading provider of inkjet printheads for commercial and industrial printing, is pleased to announce the release of the Samba cartridge for use with the Dimatix Materials Printer (DMP). Founded in 1998, Lisbon-based Imacx is a digital print and production company that specialises in producing large format, point-of-sale retail signage and displays. With an average annual growth of 18% in production each year since its inception, Imacx has continued to expand in response to customer demand. In 2020 the company looked to address the need for new equipment that could produce high quality, short-run work, turning to Fujifilm and the Onset X1 to become the first Portuguese company to invest in the high-end large format platform.

In order to accelerate the growth of the global inkjet business, FUJIFILM Imaging Colorants, Inc. (Newcastle, Delaware, USA, hereinafter referred to as FFIC Inc.), a U.S. subsidiary of FUJIFILM Corporation will construct a new production plant for pigment dispersions, which is a colorant for water-based pigment inkjet inks. Construction will start in April 2021 and is scheduled for completion by 2022. The investment for this construction is approximately 19 million USD.

FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division, announces that its install of Acuity LED 46 and Acuity LED 1600R has helped CR Print grow its business despite the downturn many have experienced during the global pandemic. CR Print, a family owned business-to-business small commercial print shop located in Westlake Village, California, installed Fujifilm’s Acuity LED 46 and the Acuity LED 1600R LED UV printers, which has allowed the company to meet customer needs quicker than ever before by providing a faster turnaround on projects regardless of size, with a high degree of quality and reliability.

To formulate ink adhesion, we should first look at surface tension and energy. The first step is the initial interaction between ink and media, which is driven by the ink's surface tension and the surface energy of the media. In general terms, the ink needs to have a lower surface tension than the energy of the media to be able to 'wet' the substrate. Without this, the ink would reticulate and mottle - basically the effect you'd see with water on glass.

With this certification, Acuity and Inca press owners using the Color-Logic system can create eye-catching metallic effects that can be incorporated into packaging, signage, displays, and collateral material.

Based in Göttingen, central Germany, Hubert&Co is a book printing firm with a heritage dating back more than a century. Offering a complete range of services, from short to long run; from monochromatic print to full colour, and a range of different binding options, the company invested in a Fujifilm Jet Press 750S in February 2020. This was its first ever investment in Fujifilm inkjet technology.

FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division announced a collaboration with Zund America, Inc., a company providing highly sought-after cutting solutions for processing a wide variety of materials today, including corrugated display and packaging and sign and display materials, as well as folding carton applications. The collaboration will enable Fujifilm’s print service provider customers to obtain access to Zund America, Inc.’s collection of cutting technologies and methods that will provide a comprehensive solution for packaging, marketing materials, and signage.
