3 point registration system of the Agfa Jeti Tauro H3300 printer for perfect double-sided printing

October 21, 2019

When printing double-sided, it is important to achieve proper registration: the images on the front and back must align perfectly. On large-format presses, registration is handled by a 3 point registration system. The substrate is aligned using 3 pins or notches. This mechanism helps minimize the impact of media stock that has slight variations in size or that is not perfectly rectangular.

This video shows how you align media using the 3 point registration system of the Jeti Tauro H3300 printer. The first example is a print made on a honeycomb panel. The front is printed first, followed by the back. To show the registration accuracy, the operator pushes a screwdriver through a printed figure on the front. The blade exits through the figure on the opposite side. In the second part of the video, two prints on corrugated cardboard are output simultaneously.
