One of the Southwest’s best golf courses, the Sewailo Golf Club blends the native landscape with picturesque lakes and streams (But please: no swimming). The 2018 event will be held April 22-24 at Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson, Arizona. A Forbes Four Star Award and a AAA Four Diamond Award winner, the resort is nestled in the secluded mesquites of the high desert, just 15 minutes from Tucson International Airport and downtown Tucson.
The Pro Imaging & SGIA Golf Championship is the premier golfing event for the imaging industry. The event provides access to an array of industry professionals in an intimate networking atmosphere, at elite locations across the US.
Pro Imaging & SGIA Golf Championship is a two-day scramble, with 3 days of optional practice rounds. Players are ranked into one of four skill levels labeled A, B, C, or D. In order to have a fair event, every team includes an A, B, C, and D player. Players are randomly selected at the pairing party. The pairing party is an event by itself, including complimentary cocktails, food and entertainment. A sponsor representative is preseated on each team during the pairing party to allow golfing guests an up-close, two-day window to get to know and establish connections with owners and VP’s of this industries premier companies. A Calloway tournament runs in conjunction during the tournament, which allows for cash prizes for the winners.
The first day of the tournament, team scores cut the field in half with the lower half going into the first flight and the upper half advancing into the championship flight. Team scores are then zeroed out and the scores posted on the second day of the tournament position teams for prizes. The first through the fourth place teams in both flights receive crystal trophies, part of the Calloway money, and great prizes. Prizes range from full Iron sets, to the latest drivers and hybrid clubs. The most coveted prize, the Master’s green jacket with the Pro Imaging GC crest, is awarded to each player on the championship round winning team. Green jackets are awarded in a ceremony the following year and are worn at future Pro Imaging GC events.
This event is first a golf tournament; however the parties are very popular. The new networking party comes two days prior to the tournament. This party is where early arrivers come to play practice rounds on the course and networks and connect over drinks at night. The pairing party is held the evening before the first round, this is where each golfing guest receives a sponsor gift package, which may items such as logo shirts, golf balls and tees. Other items in past gift packs included: golf jackets, golf bags and travel bags. Each gift pack typically has a value in excess of $250.
Next is the flighting party held after the first round, and finally the banquet follows the second day of golf. This is where the winners of the previous year’s tournament receive their jackets and the current years prizes are given out. The sponsors of Pro Imaging GC are the backbone to all the events. From the gift packages to the complimentary food and drinks, the sponsors of The Pro Imaging Golf Championship go out of their way to provide the means to host a premier tournament. All attendees and their guest may attend all the parties. Attire is country club casual to semi-formal, depending on your preference. Green jackets are requested to be worn at the pairing party and the banquet.
