Antalis to showcase sustainable solutions at The Print Show 2019

September 10, 2019

As Europe’s leading distributor of paper, packaging and visual communications, Antalis has long had a focus on sustainability and the environment, and a product range and knowledge of the topic that is the envy of the industry. Making purchasing decisions based on environmental impact was, until recently, relatively niche. But now sustainability, the impact of the sourcing and disposal of products, and the need to make greener choices throughout a complete project is on the top of a client’s shopping list.

Supporting the Independent Print Industry Association (IPIA) on Stand E41 at The Print Show event on 17th – 19th September 2019 at the NEC in Birmingham, Antalis will show how they can offer solutions across the full spectrum of products and applications, and provide advice and guidance to their customers to be successful in a market where green credentials are becoming as equally important in the buying considerations as cost or technical specification.

On the stand Antalis will showcase:

  • NAUTILUS® - Launched in Summer 2019, this is a 100% recycled uncoated paper and board, manufactured by Mondi, with Nautilus Classic showcasing true recycled aesthetics and the availability of a SuperWhite which is a premium ecologicial paper with excellent whiteness.
  • Triaprint – The latest edition to the sustainable range is a 100% recyclable polypropelyne product. Boasting high rigidity, low weight and a smooth printable service it is an environmentally friendly alternative to foam PVC, foam board and other rigid plastics.
  • Xanita Board – A key product for Antalis in 2019, Xanita board is a sustainably engineered fibreboard; manufactured using fibres recovered from recycled paper products such as cardboard boxes. Xanita board is 100% repulpable, 75% lighter than MDF (making it cheaper and more sustainable to transport and handle) and significantly stronger than honeycomb boards. Xanita board is designed to work with digital flatbed printers, hybrid printers and CNC cutters and can be used in a wide variety of applications, from display and exhibitions to furniture and signage.
  • Creative papers – For those clients looking for a high class of look and feel, but don’t want to compromise on the environment our Keaykolour, Rives and Olin products are all made in Scotland to industry-leading colour consistency and stability standards and are available in an array of recycled and textured options.
  • Green Star Rating – Navigating the environmental impact of a product and articulating that to an end user can be incredibly complex; for some years now Antalis has embedded it’s Green Star System, a simple five-star rating system which tells consumers, at-a-glance, the green credentials of the product they are buying to inform their purchasing. If they’re still not clear, all Antalis staff have extensive training on the green star system and the sustainability of our products and can provide advice and guidance.
  • Carbon Balancing with the World Land Trust – If, once weighing up all the options, the right media or substrate for a project isn’t necessarily the ‘greenest’ one, all is not lost. Through our relationship with the World Land Trust, Antalis can carbon balance all of the paper and paper-based packaging that a customer required; providing peace of mind that they have done all they can to mitigate the impact they have on our natural world.

We’re increasingly seeing clients and end users with lofty sustainability ambitions, but who lack the knowhow to make the switch to greener alternatives or build a business plan around the impact they have on the environment. We’re there to help. With our products, our expertise and our wider-market contacts we can support them to make sensible decisions without compromising on quality – and would love to talk to visitors to The Print Show about all that and more in September.”
