Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., has announced that longtime Minnesota-based graphics provider Pixelwerx LLC has installed the Océ Colorado 1640 printer, placing the company at the forefront of next-generation wide format technology advancements.

Canon, leader in imaging solutions, is proud to announce that its Océ CrystalPoint technology has reached an important milestone as 10,000 Océ ColorWave engines powered with this technology have been installed worldwide.

It is a giant leap from historical times in ancient Egypt to the 21st century. Océ – A Canon Company, is bridging the two eras by recreating parts of the pyramid of Seti I. Seti I was a pharaoh in the nineteenth Dynasty. Océ elevated printing technology was used to create exact reconstructions of the pyramid’s high relief walls, pillars and sarcophagus.

When you first meet Daniel and Joel Oschatz, the two printing brothers, as they call themselves, of Oschatz Visuelle Medien GmbH, the first impression is that they are really embracing their roles of CEOs of the company. Daniel is in charge of sales, while Joel heads up technical. The company was founded by their father as a photolab in 1983, and together, the two brothers have successfully brought it into the digital market.

Caldera’s full suite of RIP and workflow products for graphic arts printers now supports the Océ Colorado 1640, The first ever large format printer to feature Canon’s revolutionary UVgel technology. Designed specifically for the Océ Colorado 1640, Caldera’s driver passed print and stress tests with flying colours and is available for immediate download. Print houses adopting the new engine can therefore be completely confident that their Caldera RIP will enable them to produce stunning, colour-faithful graphics with the speed and efficiency they have come to expect from their software.

High-tech printing company Océ transfers R&D and Manufacturing of the so-called “flatbed” wide-format printing systems to Europe. The goal is to increase the scale and effectiveness of Océ manufacturing.

Visitors to a University of Greenwich’s Show were treated to a fantastic array of imagery following its investment in two of Canon’s Océ ColorWave 700s.
