Increased growth at Leeds-based Marshall Print had resulted in bottlenecks in the finishing department that were resolved by a fully automated Esko Kongsberg X24 digital cutting table with conveyor belt – sourced from and installed by CMYUK.

CMYUK, the leading independent supplier of digital print technology and materials, has signed a significant UK agreement with Esko, the manufacturer of the highly-regarded Kongsberg digital cutting systems, and developer of an extensive suite of workflow, automation and production-efficiency software.

Esko has given 3D packaging design software Studio 16 a new series of tools with the launch of Esko Studio 16, part of the Esko Software Platform 16. Studio is a unique set of tools for 3D packaging design made for all packaging artwork professionals.

If you didn’t make it to Drupa you would have missed Esko launching its new CorruSpeed tool, a brand-new tool for its Kongsberg family of cutting tables designed for high-speed cutting of corrugated board without oscillating. The result is cleaner, more accurate cuts comparable to conventional die cutting, bringing the highest quality of digital finishing to the corrugated market. Tools are available for Kongsberg C Series, X Series, XP and XE cutting tables.

Swanline Paper & Board, the recently launched materials division of Swanline Print Ltd, has installed a Kongsberg C24 cutting table from Esko, featuring multi-zone operation and robotic loading and unloading.

Dönitz Displays & Verpackunge, based in Scheeßel, Germany, has invested in a Kongsberg XN22 cutting system from Esko in order to be more responsive to customer requirements for fast turnaround display prototypes and small series production. The machine replaces a 15-year-old cutting system from another manufacturer that had passed its technical peak.

Esko is heading to Drupa with a brace of new launches designed to give print, display and packaging companies the tools to get the absolute most out of their equipment, their workflows and their staff.

MIS vendor Shuttleworth Business Systems says it is working in partnership with Esko to provide time saving solutions for its customers. The partnership allows Shuttleworth users to save administration time by passing job specification details directly from the Shuttleworth MIS into a pre-defined folder which is then imported directly into Esko’s Automation Engine.

Spanish large format print production company Verdú Digital is the first in the region to streamline operations with the Esko Kongsberg C64 multi-functional large format digital finishing system. With an annual production of more than 180.000 m2 of canvas, vinyl and textiles, the company has also invested in several Esko design and workflow software solutions to help better service customers across Europe, including key clients in France, Portugal and Italy.
