EFI today announced the availability of the next generation of its industry leading Fiery® production printing platform. Digital front ends (DFEs) based on EFI Fiery FS300 Pro platform drive presses across sheetfed, high-speed continuous feed, B1 folding carton, and corrugated digital production systems. These new products retain Fiery technology's position as the world's most productive and versatile DFE platform offering with new features in the key areas that print customers care about: color, performance, usability and integration.

Rafael Hinojosa S.A., a technological leader in integrated packaging product development and converting, has reported that it is in successful production using the world's first EFI™ Nozomi C18000 single-pass ultra-high-speed corrugated packaging press from EFI. The press, installed at Hinojosa's Xátiva, Spain, headquarters, offers powerful production features that have improved Hinojosa's short-run production capabilities.

Manchester, based MediaCo Group has installed an EFI™ VUTEk® FabriVU®520 printer to boost capacity in its growing soft signage printing operation. The aqueous-ink dye-sublimation printer allows MediaCo to deliver single-piece fabric graphics up to 5m wide. MediaCo is the first display and graphics specialist in the UK to invest in the new printer model.

Xerox and EFI have announced a strategic partnership to bring to market a next generation digital front end to drive Xerox digital production presses. The agreement includes the sale of Xerox’s FreeFlow Print Server digital front end business to EFI. Under the terms of the deal, EFI will continue to produce and support FreeFlow Print Server so current customers do not experience interruptions in sales or service.

EFI has acquired Optitex, an emerging, fast growing global player in integrated 3D design software that enables the textile industry's digital transformation and accelerates the adoption of fast fashion. With offices in the U.S., Italy, India, Hong Kong and Israel, privately held Optitex will be integrated into EFI's Productivity Software business unit.

Ricoh has declared its intention to move further into the wide format sector by adding EFI VUTEk flatbed printers to its offering. The announcement made during Drupa 2016 means that Ricoh’s graphic arts offering is expanded further and is now a complementary product range encompassing flatbed, large format, continuous feed, cut sheet, software and consultancy services.
