Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte, while on a trade mission to India, offered the famous Dutch painting Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. But naturally it wasn’t the original painting. It was a reproduction created with the Océ elevated printing technology.

The Mauritshuis museum in The Hague will take down its most famous painting, ‘Girl with the pearl earring’ by Johannes Vermeer, to study it for two weeks with new analytical tools.

Océ’s ‘elevated printing’ technology is on display in Paris at the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac this year, from January 30 through January 6, 2019.
