EFI has introduced two milestone digital print workflow solutions at FESPA 2018 in Berlin: a new version of Fiery® Command WorkStation® and Fiery XF 7, an updated digital front end (DFE) for EFI wide and superwide format inkjet printers.
Today, Onyx Graphics, Inc. announced the launch of ONYX 18, the newest version release of the company's award-winning wide- and grand-format software. ONYX 18 introduces new colour technologies for colour accuracy, consistency and conformance to standards such as G7 and Fogra that print service providers can prove to their customers; and is the first solution compatible with iccMAX, the new standard recommended by the ICC for all wide- and grand-format print applications including textile and soft signage. The new release brings next level power and reliability to the entire portfolio of ONYX products with the latest Adobe® PDF Print Engine (APPE 4.8), a high speed, high fidelity print platform for increased consistency and reliability across proofing cycles. Combined with new dynamic tools for print production and optimised out-of-the-box presets, ONYX 18 delivers fast, superior output for all wide-format printing applications.
At this year’s FESPA Global Print Expo (15th-18th May), PrintFactory will explore ‘the power of possibility’ on Stand 1.1-C38 by demonstrating the profitability boosting potential of true and total automation for large format print businesses.
At FESPA 2018, visitors to Esko (www.esko.com) Stands 3.2-C48 and 5.2-D30 during the 15 to 18 May event in Berlin, will be invited to “Take the Fastlane” for their businesses by collecting their suitcases on the Esko stand to begin an exciting journey to improved productivity. In addition to Automation Engine QuickStart for Sign and WebCenter QuickStart for Corrugated converters, the company will be introducing a brand-new Flip-Side Camera for Kongsberg cutting tables equipped with a Feeder and Stacker. This truly unique solution saves the 20 to 30 minutes of manual set-up time typically required to ensure accurate cutting of corrugated board for in-store displays as well as other applications. When using the Kongsberg Feeder and Stacker, the camera scans the underside of the sheet to locate registration marks, barcodes containing set-up instructions, and the corner of the sheet. It is then able to cut and crease accurately by calculating where the registration marks are in reference to the corner, with limited or no operator intervention.

The Wide Format Automation Suite in particular will be the focus of attention at the trade fair for large format printing in Berlin from 15 to 18 May 2018.
