With Italian company LIC Packaging, Sappi has gained a renowned packaging manufacturer as a new customer. The company uses the brilliant white double-coated fresh fibre Fusion Topliner, as well as the recently launched uncoated version, Fusion Uncoated. Both products are being printed exclusively with post-print processes. Depending on the run length and quality requirements, the company uses either offset or flexo print. Digital printing will be added shortly, once a new HP C500 digital printer for direct corrugated board printing is installed in June 2018.
Sappi Limited, a leading global producer of dissolving wood pulp, speciality and packaging papers, graphic (printing and writing) paper and biomaterials, today reported it is exhibiting at FESPA Berlin for the first time. Following the Cham Paper Group acquisition, Sappi is presenting solutions in the fields of dye sublimation papers, inkjet papers, silicone base papers and containerboard at the show.
Rondo-Ganahl, an Austrian manufacturer of corrugated board packaging, is a company steeped in tradition. It is now using Sappi’s Fusion Topliner with its recently installed Durst digital printer, producing personalised corrugated folding boxes in short as well as longer runs with very short lead times at its plant in St. Ruprecht/Raab. Sappi’s brilliant white fresh fibre liner was chosen following a series of print and material tests. Fusion Topliner achieved excellent results – not only with offset and flexo, but also with digital printing.
There was a distinctly Scandinavian feel about the finalist selections in this year's ProCarton ECMA Awards, including Finnish skincare and cosmetics firm Lumene’s creation of a new logo called ‘Wheel of Light’ just at the beginning of the year. The packaging concept was developed by international market leading packaging manufacturer Edelmann and a British design team from JDO. The goal was to emphasise the brand story that highlights the exceptional pure nature and yearly light cycle of the Scandinavian landscape with special visual and physical features.
