Memjet, a leading developer of inkjet printing technology, today announced Sunil Gupta has joined the company’s board of directors. For the past four decades, Mr. Gupta has held leadership positions in large enterprises, including Fuji Xerox Australia, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific, and Xerox International Partners.

Memjet has announced that MGI Digital Technology, the leading French manufacturer of digital printing presses and finishing solutions, has integrated Memjet’s DuraLink printing technology into its new AlphaJET B1 Inkjet Printing and Embellishment Press. This is the first 40-plus-inch sheet-fed press to integrate the DuraLink inkjet printheads, ink and modules. It is also the first five-color digital printing system to offer decorative special effects such as 2D/3D UV dimensional textures and variable embossed foil. MGI is previewing the AlphaJET this week at the All4Pack Exhibition in Paris, France.

One year after the launch of DuraLink, Memjet announced the company has signed new OEM partners, formed alliances with strategic primer & integrator companies and hired new personnel to support the demand from OEM partners around the globe. Memjet and its OEM partners will be showcasing these developments at Labelexpo Americas Sept. 25–27 in Rosemont, IL and PRINT18 Sept. 30–Oct. 2 in Chicago.

The first orders for the newly launched NS Multi-LG by digital printer manufacturer New Solution Engineering, have just started to ship. Memjet and Canon have entered into a long-term, global agreement to cross-license their patents around key segments and applications. Terms of the agreement remain confidential.

This is very interesting. In the United States Memjet has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Hewlett-Packard Company in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. The lawsuit alleges infringement of eight Memjet patents related to its page-wide “waterfall” printing technology.
