Kornit Digital has announced that its long-term customer Blur of Barcelos, Portugal, has purchased an Allegro single-step digital textile printing solution. Already highly successful with its Kornit Avalanche direct-to-garment systems, this enterprising company is now moving into the market for the full digital production of fast fashion products with the addition of full roll-to-roll printing capabilities.

The first UK installation of EFI’s VUTEk FabriVU 340 soft signage printer has gone in to theatrical industry supplier Prompt Side Theatrical Drapery. Already a user of a VUTEk GS3250LX Pro LED printer, the company was seeking a way to add polyesters and other fabrics to its portfolio to extend the types of scenery, backdrops and drapery it produces for a vast range of applications.

It would appear that Italian digital textile printing machinery companies have become a much sought after acquisition following EFI’s purchase of the Bergamo based Reggiani Macchine last year, and now the Japanese inkjet giant Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. has snapped up the stocks of another Bergamo based textile printing machinery company, La Meccanica Costruzione Tessili-S.P.A.

The increase in demand for bespoke and short run interior textiles – be it for furnishings, décor or display graphics – is showing no sign of abating. This is why Mimaki is set to launch a 3.2-m wide, roll-to-roll, dedicated transfer paper printer - TS500P-3200 - for the textile industry. The new Mimaki sublimation inkjet printer is ideal for a broad range of applications including home furnishing textiles and indoor soft signage.

Mimaki has announced it will be introducing a brand-new super-fast 1.8m roll-to-roll direct-to-textile inkjet printer at ITMA in Milan next month. The company says its new printer is designed to meet the market demand for smaller lot sizes, faster delivery times and the ability to quickly produce samples.

Korean based digital inkjet/textile printing solution provider Digital Graphics Incorporation (DGI) has awarded exclusive distribution rights for its range of sublimation and textile printers to Sabur Digital Ltd for the UK and Ireland. Sabur is also a significant distributor of Roland’s broad range of wide format printers.

Printed table cloth specialist Harberson Ltd has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the corporate linens industry, with the business transforming itself from simple supplier to now offering bespoke dye-sublimation printing of tablecloths and linen for the exhibition industry thanks to its investment in a Mimaki TS34-1800A.
