If you do nothing else at Sign & Digital UK you should look into the benefits of what a management information system (MIS) can do for your print business. If you already have one, then you are already on the right track, but for those without (many in the wide format sector are yet to discover what a good MIS can do for them) a look at what Tharstern will be showing at Sign & Digital UK might prove useful.

Roland DG will use Sign & Digital UK to launch its new GR-640/540/420 professional vinyl cutters, the latest additions to its CAMM-1 series.

Mimaki’s UK and Irish distributor, Hybrid Services will give the new Mimaki JFX200-2531 LED UV flatbed printer its UK and Irish debut at Sign & Digital UK. On Stand D50, Graphtec GB will demonstrate the new FCX2000 series of flatbed plotter/cutters. They are available in three sizes (920 x 610, 920 x 1,200 and 920 x 1,800mm) and a choice of either a vacuum suction or electrostatic material hold-down facility, with the former being more suitable for heavier and thicker materials and the latter better suited to the processing of lighter-weight media. The plotter/cutters have a maximum cutting force of 9.8N (1Kgf) and a maximum cutting speed of 400mm/sec.

For sign makers this one stop shop for essential sign making tools and equipment, the Pavilion, will showcase suppliers offering day-to-day items, including sign blanks and accessories, tool kits, fittings and fixings, built up letters and LED lighting.

Cardboard cutting and creasing is a key way for sign and display companies to differentiate themselves and their services, and as such Blackman & White will use Sign & Digital UK to showcase the almost limitless options for packaging and display using its flatbed Versa-Tech laser/router/knife cutter together with its own Tiger Pack workflow software.

If you are going to Sign & Digital UK this year and are looking for a machine that can add value to your business by printing onto a whole range of substrates and objects from customised merchandise and promotional items to giftware and signage, the Roland VersaUV LEF-300 flatbed printer certainly looks as if it has a lot to offer.

Epson is back with a bang at this year’s Sign & Digital UK exhibition and says it plans to demonstrate the power of its SureColor range of wide-format printers, used to produce a wide variety of high-quality value-added applications.
