Let’s face it: the world will never be 100% environmentally friendly – at least not during my lifetime, which I plan to continue for at least another five to six decades. Sustainability is one of those hyped words that everyone uses and interprets freely based on their own definition. Many companies claim that their product is sustainable, albeit based only on a narrow set of attributes. More often than not, we as customers just take their word for it. A company, for example, can claim sustainability solely based on ink characteristics, without considering other factors such as power consumption or ink usage. Don’t get me wrong, any progress toward a more sustainable world should be applauded, but I personally think taking one concrete approach at a time is the way to go.

Mimaki, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutting systems, today reported that the European Digital Press Association (EDP) has honoured the company with two prestigious EDP awards. Europe’s 21 leading trade magazines with an editorial focus on digital print processes come together each year to honour the best technological developments among products and other developments announced or presented within the previous 12 months.

Mimaki has announced that its production-class Tiger-1800B digital textile printer family has been enhanced with new features and capabilities as the company continues to drive higher quality in digital textile printing. The Tiger-1800B MkII, which will debut at FESPA 2018, offers an additional high-quality mode at 1,200dpi and several enhancements to improve quality, including reduction of banding and other printing defects.

Mimaki Europe has announced that the company’s UCJV Series with LUS-200 inks will carry the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty; the most comprehensive finished graphics warranty in the industry. The warranty will be available in Europe from mid-summer 2018.

Mimaki has announced it is demonstrating the Rimslow Series; a complete, end-to-end digital textile and apparel printing ecosystem at FESPA 2018, scheduled for 15 to 18 May in Berlin. Mimaki is located on Stand 1.2-D20/D30 at the show. The ability to acquire a complete system from a single supplier makes it easier for businesses to enter the digital textile and apparel printing market, and for existing textile and apparel businesses to add digital printing to the mix to complement conventional textile printing processes.

Mimaki’s exclusive distributor, Hybrid Services is to present a range of textile manufacturing solutions at the Make it British Live! exhibition, held in London. Formerly known as ‘Meet the Manufacturer’, the show prides itself on being the only sourcing event that exclusively showcases British manufacturers and producers.

Mimaki Europe has partnered up with Signcom to launch new campaigns that aim to improve the brand’s presence in Scandinavia. The joint campaigns also include limited offers on a number of Mimaki’s award-winning machines.

The Print Show will this year once again highlight the latest and greatest in wide-format print technology by featuring some of the leading brands from the global market, with HP set to use the event to showcase its new HP Latex R series in the UK for the first time.

At Sabur Ink Systems Ltd, we have a wealth of experience and expertise in supplying to the textile printing industry.

Exclusive UK and Irish Mimaki distributor, Hybrid Services has confirmed that Sign & Digital UK will be one of the first opportunities to see the new, smaller Mimaki UCJV printer cutters, that will officially launch in May.

Mimaki is focused on promoting the analog-to-digital transformation of printing processes in the textile and apparel market. This includes developing a total solutions approach, from pre-processing through printing and post-processing of digitally printed textiles. To that end, Mimaki Europe has established a joint venture with BOMPAN S.r.l., a leading distributor in Italy that has longstanding experience in the textile industry and has had a trusted business relationship with Mimaki Europe for more than two decades. Mimaki Europe retains a 51% ownership of the joint venture, known as Mimaki Bompan Textile S.r.l., and the majority of directors, including the CEO, Hirokazu Hayashi. Massimo Bompan is serving as Chairman of the joint venture company.
