Mimaki is working with ESKO to simplify digital packaging production for companies that produce packaging samples and mock-ups, as well as small packing runs and personalised packaged goods.

Mike Horsten Mimaki EuropeIn many a history book we have read the lines ‘The King is Dead, Long Live the King’ – the old king dies and the new king is welcomed and becomes the greatest king. The history and evolution of printing technology and processes could be compared with this premise. In the Solvent printing business this has been happening. The older ink technologies which were smelly and poor quality but seen as wonderful during their time are being replaced with a new generation of inks which are bright, odourless and long lasting. The question is…‘Is Solvent the correct technology for the sign making industry at this moment in time?’

Hybrid Services has announced that Mimaki’s flagship CJV300 Series integrated printer/cutter now forms an integral part of the company’s summer special – The Great £5k Print & Cut Giveaway.

Mimaki says it is set to participate in Labelexpo Europe 2015 this September where the company will display a range of unique new products for the label market that can be created with the Mimaki family of printers.

There’s never been a better time to invest in the smaller format Mimaki UV range as Mimaki’s UK and Irish distributor, Hybrid Services is offering up to £4,000 cashback with the purchase of a Mimaki UJF flatbed LED UV printer until 28th August 2015.

Here’s something a little bit different. I got a call from a certain David Bartrum (team principal at the quite famous Motorbase team) who wanted me to add a little flair to the walling within the team’s garage at Silverstone. The conversation went along the lines of “My walling looks crap, can you make it look y’know, cool, and different.”

Cut sheet digital printing specialist Print On has invested heavily in Mimaki wide format printers including a JFX200 LED UV flatbed and a pair of high performance JV300 solvent machines. The move has enabled the Cheshire based company to enjoying a period of expansion and buoyant business as it cultivates an impressive client list of major high street names.

CMYUK is a specialist UK provider of super-wide digital printing solutions and is the UK dealer for EFI super-wide format VUTEk, Mimaki and Zünd digital production solutions. The company recently opened a new showroom and technical facility in Shrewsbury, Shropshire where GDW caught up with Group director Robin East for a chat.

For the second year running Hybrid Services has played host to graphic design students from South Cheshire College. After a complete showroom rebrand from the students in 2014, this year the 16-18 year olds were given an exclusive free run of Hybrid’s extensive showroom; and the complete Sign and Graphics and Industrial Products portfolio of Mimaki printers in order to create finished products from their own designs.

Preston based Kaymar Print offers customers a mix of both litho, cut sheet digital and screen printing services, and has now added wide format printing to its portfolio of services with the addition of the latest Mimaki CJV150-107 integrated printer/cutter.

Mimaki has again been recognised at FESPA 2015 with a European Digital Press Association (EDP) award for ‘Best Print and Cut Solution’. The Mimaki CJV150 Series brings simultaneous print/cut operations to an affordable entry-level printer at a print speed of up to 56.2 square meters per hour. The award was accepted by Mike Horsten, general manager Marketing of Mimaki EMEA, at a special awards ceremony held during the show.
