Global materials science and manufacturing company Avery Dennison will feature new and recently launched sustainable solutions at Labelexpo Europe, September 24-27, 2019. “A Sustainable World”, one of the four world of discovery areas, will spotlight portfolios that offer a comprehensive range of materials designed to meet new labeling challenges.

Nineteen new apprentices were warmly welcomed to Mitsubishi HiTec Paper. Five paper technologists, three industrial mechanics, three electronics technicians, one cutting machine operator, four machine and plant operators, one IT specialist and two industrial clerks began their careers at the mills in Bielefeld and Flensburg.

X-Rite Incorporated and Pantone LLC, global leaders in color science and technology, will showcase the latest innovation in color management at this year’s Labelexpo Europe, September 24 – 27 in Brussels, Belgium. In Hall No. 3, stand 3E62, X-Rite and Pantone will demonstrate its full portfolio of hardware and software designed to streamline the color workflow process from pre-press, formulation, print production, and quality control. In addition, the eXact spectrophotometer and ColorCert quality control software will be on display in Labelexpo’s Flexible Packaging Arena as part of the conventional and digital press lines producing indirect food contact flexible packaging.

Momentum is building for the 40th anniversary edition of Labelexpo Europe 2019, with just three weeks to go until this landmark show opens its doors in Brussels. Xeikon has developed a specific solution for printers looking to enhance and increase their range of labels. Visitors to Labelexpo Europe 2019 will be the first to learn about the newest Avery Dennison breakthrough technology, to be launched at the show, which runs Sept. 24-27 at Brussels Expo in Belgium.

At Labelexpo Europe, which takes place from 24 to 27 September in Brussels, UV system manufacturer IST Metz will present its new LEDcure SCR LED system for retrofitting label printing presses at Stand D21 in Hall 5. The LEDcure SCR meets the requirements of label production and can be easily integrated into existing printing presses.

Durst, manufacturer of advanced production technologies, has appointed Peter Jones to a newly-created role as Labels Business Development Manager for the UK and Ireland. Starting today (August 19), he will be working closely with the local sales, service, supply and logistics teams as well as Durst Group headquarters staff based in Brixen, Italy.

With two innovations in store, Mitsubishi HiTec Paper is presenting a wide range of coated specialty papers for the label and packaging market at Labelexpo Europe 2019. The new products: jetscript METAL VPG 1018, a metallic-silver gloss inkjet paper for the water-based inkjet printing of self-adhesive labels, as well as barricote BAG WGOM, a fully recyclable barrier paper for flexible food packaging with multi-barrier against water vapour, grease and oil, oxygen and aroma as well as mineral oil migration.

Following the commissioning of a brand-new £2 million coating line in 2019, Kernow Coatings is expanding its already comprehensive range of over 2000 products to the self-adhesive labelstock market. “The concept remains the same”, says Paul Dimery, Kernow’s Group Sales Manager. “We are bringing our world renowned digitally printable films to the label market by marrying them with a wide range of adhesives, from microsphere to marine and from emulsion acrylic to solvent in conjunction with a range of release liners. We have an exceptionally wide range of face stocks from whites to clear, translucent, colours and even metallic, including matt silver, ranging in thickness from 36 microns to over 300 micron. The result will be one of the widest and highest performing ranges of digitally printable self-adhesive label stock available on the market. As well as our standard self-adhesive product range, the variety of products available is limitless because we can create our own coatings. For example, we can colour match to any Pantone colour, and mix and match adhesives and release liners. In addition to this, we can also help customers design and develop new products and concepts using our state-of-the-art pilot coater and laboratory.”
