Surrey-based, family-run business reveals how investing in a high quality, in-house prototyping solution from Fujifilm has helped to grow its business

Founded in Barcelona 30 years ago by Jordi París, Art & Servei employs 22 staff and produces a wide range of packaging, POS and merchandising products for major brands. In late 2016, París invested in his first digital press; a Fujifilm Acuity Select X28 with six colours, white and varnish. The investment quickly proved its worth and, one year on, the company has seen a major boost in productivity and efficiency.

Almost a year on from installation, Fujifilm's Acuity LED 3200R has enabled Alsdorf-based LOGO Werbetechnik to move into new markets and massively increase its product offering to existing customers. In 2016, when the company went looking for a new printer to enhance its offering, Fujifilm's new 3.2 metre wide format machine stood out from the competition. Now, LOGO Werbetechnik is doing the same thing.

Fujifilm today announces that the tilia Griffin wide format automatic layout solution from Tilia Labs has been added to its suite of XMF workflow products. tilia Griffin automates the process of laying out jobs on a single sheet in order to maximise the printed area and minimise the substrate waste after cutting, a process that many wide format printers still use Adobe Illustrator or similar programmes for. tilia Griffin rapidly works out the optimal use of space, saving both the time taken to do this process manually and the material that is inevitably wasted through a time consuming manual process.

Fujifilm today announces that it will use InPrint 2017 in Munich, Germany, to showcase a range of FUJIFILM Inkjet Technology solutions for the industrial print market. Products to be featured on the stand include SAMBATM piezo-electric printheads, proprietary UV, aqueous and hybrid inks as well as world-class software and systems integration expertise that have led to Fujifilm fast becoming the supplier of choice for manufacturing partners and innovators right across the industry.

When it was installed in March 2017, Kingfisher Press’s Jet Press 720S (the third installation in the UK at the time) signified a bold step forward for the Suffolk-based printer and its co-directors Jon Doidge and Paul Tomlin. “We had reached a bit of an impasse – our litho work was static and we decided that we had three choices as to how to proceed,” explained Tomlin at the time. “We could buy nothing and continue as we were, running the risk that our competitors would start to leave us behind; we could invest in a new litho press, which would offer us a slight improvement in speed and quality; or we could invest in a Jet Press 720S and open up a whole new revenue stream. When we looked at it like that, it wasn’t a difficult decision.”
