Sign & Digital is 30 years old this year and what a 30 years it has been for printing! The IT revolution during this period has enabled digital printing to grow and has delivered a wealth of opportunities to new print service providers.

Canon, world leader in imaging solutions, proudly introduces the Océ Colorado 1640, the first 64” roll-to-roll wide format printer built on the revolutionary new Canon UVgel technology.

Canon Europe says it is gearing up to launch a UV gel printing technology for a new line of roll-to-roll printers next year that will offer large format print providers an unprecedented combination of productivity, image quality, application range, automation and low cost of operation.

Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, has today announced its new UVgel printing technology. This unique technology will soon feature in a new line of roll-to-roll printers that will offer large format print providers an unprecedented combination of productivity, image quality, application range, automation and low cost of operation.

Canon Europe demonstrated an interesting new prototype workflow automation solution – provisionally named ‘View & Cut' – at Drupa 2016 in conjunction with Zünd to further automate the finishing of printed output from Canon wide format printers on the Océ ProCut G3 and Zünd S3 flatbed devices.

Canon is gearing up to present the latest Océ Arizona 1280 GT flatbed printer to the UK for the first time at Sign & Digital 2016 on Stand H10. The company claims that the true flatbed architecture of the new 1200 series has been designed to deliver the most versatile platform in wide format printing.

Canon has launched two new printers - the Océ ColorWave 810 and 910 - reputed to be the fastest digital 42’’ wide format colour printers on the market, with speeds of up to 1000m² per hour regardless of image complexity, ink coverage or media type.

Zünd is to host two open days with Canon this autumn, giving customers in the signage and graphics industries an opportunity to see a range of printing and digital cutting equipment.

Canon has announced the launch of its first 100 page-per-minute colour digital print engine – the imagePRESS C10000VP - designed with a raft of technological innovations that enhance throughput, ensure reliably consistent colour and more accurate registration control and flexible media handling and finishing.

The company says the new C10000VP offers 2,400 x 2,400 dpi print resolution and vivid output quality, and is rated at speeds of up to 100 impressions per minute irrespective of media weight up to 350gsm.

Canon says the imagePRESS C10000VP maintains productivity even on long-run or mixed media jobs, including speciality stocks such as synthetic media. The Consistently Vivid (CV) toner offers improved transfer efficiency and a lower fixing temperature, delivering vibrant image quality even on textured media. A new air compressor also makes it possible to print onto thin coated media as light as 70gsm.

10A 4000 frontThe device also features some impressive new finishing options, which include a new professional puncher that supports a greater range of media sizes and a new inline creasing functionality. A choice of digital front end controllers – Canon’s PRISMAsync or the new EFI Fiery FS200 – enables PSPs to select the right RIP and controller to streamline their workflow.

A new developer unit maintains colour consistency, ensuring stable output even over long runs. This is further enhanced by the introduction of new Multi Density Adjustment Technology that allows for automatic real-time density correction, as well as an in-line spectroscopic sensor that enables daily colour calibration.

Other design elements include a second transfer belt that improves control over registration, as well as new Simple Registration Control technology, which helps PSPs to maximise their productivity by enabling quicker and easier registration adjustments.

The imagePRESS C10000VP will be available from October 2015 and will make its European debut at Canon EXPO in Paris later this year.
