FESPA is partnering with non-profit 3D industry initiative, 3DION, to bring the 2D printing and 3D printing industry together at FESPA 2015, which takes place in Cologne, Germany, from 18 - 22 May 2015.

With an outstanding live display Carbon3D took the main stage of the recent TED technology conference by storm with an innovative approach to polymer-based 3D printing that promises to advance the industry beyond basic prototyping to 3D manufacturing using Continuous Liquid Interface Production technology (CLIP) to harness light and oxygen to continuously grow objects from a pool of resin instead of printing them layer-by-layer.

Heidelberg says it is developing what it is calling 4D Printing solutions for customers decorating 3D objects. The company will use the November 2015 industrial printing show InPrint, to showcase its latest technology.

HP looks set to attempt to take the 3D printing market by storm with its HP Multi Jet Fusion technology which the company claims is ten times faster than any currently available 3D print technology today. To help achieve such speeds HP has partnered with Intel Corporation as the silicon architecture for its Multi Jet Fusion technology.

MakerBot Europe, a subsidiary of Stratasys, and Datech, Tech Data Europe's specialist brand for the value-added distribution of Autodesk design software, will work together in distributing MakerBot 3D printing and scanning products in the European countries of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Spain.
