Take a walk with Antalis down Sustainable Street at this year’s VM & Display Show 2020

March 11, 2020

One of Europe’s leading suppliers of Visual Communication substrates will be showcasing its extensive portfolio of sustainable materials for use in retail store design, POS and marketing at this year’s VM & Display show, which takes place on 28 and 29 April at London’s Business Design Centre (Stand D10).

Antalis – a global company with its UK headquarters in Leicestershire – exhibited at the show for the first time last year. This year, it is returning with a bigger and better stand that showcases how sustainable materials can be used to create eco-friendly retail and display design – ranging from the super-simple to the wildly theatrical.

The company has been steadily growing its range of printable substrates that are not only sustainably produced but can also be re-used, recycled or disposed of easily, to meet the growing demand from the retail sector and other sectors where visual merchandising and display is important.

Called Sustainable Street, every element of the Antalis stand – from the structural to the decorative – will be made using substrates from within its portfolio of sustainable visual communications products.

One of the principle materials on display will be Xanita board, a 100% repulpable engineered, closed-cell fibre-board, manufactured with a corrugated kraft core made of recycled cardboard boxes. As well as being environmentally friendly, Xanita board is also lightweight and very strong, making it the ideal solution for a wide range of decorative and structural applications, including POS, shop-fit and exhibition design.

Alongside the walls, shelving and furniture of the Sustainable Street store being made from printable Xanita board, the street’s trees are made from it too. Claire White, Innovation and Creative Consultant, at Antalis comments: “Xanita is a wonderful material for bringing creative design for visual merchandising and display to life in a way that is structural, eye-catching, and sustainable. We know that businesses are under a lot of pressure to reduce their carbon footprint, which can be a challenge in the fast-paced and seasonal retail sector, but in choosing a product like Xanita, we are hoping to show retailers that they can continue to create beautifully experiential displays but without the detrimental environmental impact of some more traditional materials.”

In addition to Xanita board, the Antalis stand will also feature, among many other interesting and sustainable substrates, digitally-printable wallcoverings from its Coala range and ‘windows’ made from 100% recyclable Lumex A, which is also both RoHS and REACH compliant.

Claire continues: “Last year was our first time at the show and we were delighted to be able to help businesses in attendance with substrate solutions specific to their needs. This year, we’re hoping our stand will both entice and excite visitors about the possibilities of a more sustainable future for visual merchandising and display.”

You will find Antalis’s Sustainable Street at Stand D10.
