Zünd America breaks ground on new North American headquarters

October 09, 2018

Zund America, Inc. (Zünd) held a groundbreaking today for their new North American Headquarters that is being constructed at Drexel Town Square in Oak Creek, WI. The new headquarters includes offices as well as spaces for product display, customer and employee training, and warehousing for their product and miscellaneous materials that support the install and servicing of Zünd equipment. The building will include loading docks for shipping and receiving.

“In our new building of over 50,000 square feet, here in Oak Creek, we will have the facilities and resources to continue to provide our customers with the best possible sales and service support and continue to grow for many years to come in the Oak Creek community. With the completion of our new headquarters, we are very excited to further contribute to this community by not only attracting many visitors from all over the U.S. and Canada but also supporting local programs such as the Oak Creek High School Robotics Team and being a great neighbor to the Drexel Town Square development,” said CEO Oliver Zund at the groundbreaking.

Since 2004, when it was first established, Zünd America’s Franklin office has grown from five employees and 10,000 square feet of space to nearly 70 employees and constructing a new 61,000 SF building to be used for demonstration, service, office and warehouse space. Zünd supports thousands of customers all over the U.S. and Canada, in graphics, packaging, leather, textiles/composites, manufacturing and other industries that rely on Zünd cutters for precise, efficient digital cutting.

Zünd is engaged worldwide in the development, manufacturing and distribution of multifunctional digital cutters with corporate headquarters in Altstätten, Switzerland and sales and service organizations in Hong Kong, China, Bangkok, Thailand, Bangalore, India, Eersel, Netherlands, Bergamo, Italy, St. Albans, United Kingdom and Lindau, Germany.

The striking building was designed by Graf & Tolosa, Inc. of San Francisco with Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA), headquartered in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, serving as the Project Architect. Hunzinger Construction Company is the Construction Manager on the project. Zünd America will relocate to Oak Creek from its current location in Franklin, WI.

The design team also includes Ring & DuChateau, LLP as MEP designers, Kapur & Associates, Inc. as Civil Engineers and Pierce Engineers serving as the Structural Engineer.

The project is set to be completed in September of 2019.
