Colin Gillman is editor and publisher of the UK's leading wide format website Graphic Display World specialising in news, views and opinions from the world of wide format and digital print production.

Prior to Graphic Display World he was press officer for the UK’s Screen & Digital Printing Association and the publisher of UK Digital Printing (UKDP), a not for profit website dedicated to helping print service providers to migrate from analogue to digital workflows. Former editorial roles include editor of Sign World, the UK’s oldest sign industry magazine as well as editor of Printwear and Promotion magazine, the leading industry publication for printed textile and promotional items.

Gillman joined the graphic arts industry in the mid 1970’s first as a wide format reprographer, then as a litho plate maker prior to transferring his skills to operating lithographic presses. In the mid 1980’s he became manager of one of the UK’s largest in-house print and graphics operations at the London headquarters of British Gas Plc where he was responsible for all print production, paper and national photocopier contracts.

His next move was into marketing with Agfa Graphic Systems and enjoyed a spell at the market leading paper merchant Robert Horne where, as part of his role within the newly created digital papers division, he provided guidance and training to frontline sales people on digital print production processes.

In the mid 1990’s he joined one of the UK’s foremost international high tech public relations agencies specialising in printing, later forming his own graphic arts based B2B PR consultancy – The Gillman Associates - becoming the public face of many high profile UK based graphic arts suppliers.

Mat Thompson

Mat Thompson is the sales & social media marketing director of the UK’s leading wide format website Graphic Display World specialising in news, views and opinions from the world of wide format and digital print production.

Mat first came into the world of publishing some 24 years ago. During my time in the publishing industry, half of which was spent living and working in Australia, I have had the pleasure of travelling and selling worldwide whilst working on 22 different magazine titles and some six different websites.

After a relatively short career break due to ill health I returned to the publishing industry in 2004 as sales manager on Screen Process & Digital Imaging (SPDI). It was at this point in my career that I discovered the wonderful world of printing, an industry that I, like many before me, have developed an abiding passion.

In 2007 I fulfilled a long held ambition to launch my own magazine, co-founding Graphic Display Professional (GDPro) which was launched in June 2008 and more recently the website Graphic Display Community (GDC) in October 2009.

Now in 2010, with the support of my co-founder Colin Gillman, I have had the pleasure of developing and launching Graphic Display World & Wide Format World - It's all about wide format, a global web community for everybody involved in the wonderful world of display printing.
