Westfield Stratford City, Europe’s largest shopping centre, which forms the gateway to London’s Olympic Park, has opened for business with reports of more than 100,000 visitors flocking to the East London mall.
The £1.45bn development is located adjacent to the Olympic Park and will form the prestigious gateway to the Olympic Games in 2012.
Fashion retailer Uniqlo is the launch advertiser on JCDecaux’s new ‘Stratford Corridors’ opportunity with an immersive five week campaign that combines giant wall wraps and multiple digital creative screens to promote the launch of Uniqlo’s new store at the Westfield Stratford City mall.
The ‘Stratford Corridors’ comprise two high-flow passenger tunnels that link all the platforms at Stratford Regional Station to the Olympic Park exit. All visitors travelling by tube, train or Docklands Light Railway to the Olympic Park and shopping mall will pass through these corridors, reaching an audience of 432,390 per month.
Spencer Berwin, managing director - Sales at JCDecaux says: “This is a first look at one of our key Olympic assets and we are delighted to have Uniqlo as our launch advertiser. The ‘Stratford Corridors’ provide a high-impact, immersive experience for consumers at this new retail hub, influencing purchases and directing audiences to Uniqlo’s new store.”
