John Summerside appointed to Spandex board

Spandex has named three new board directors to support the company’s already established management team.  John Summerside

The new board members are directors Wim Noorlander (Chairman) and John Summerside (pictured), and Spandex CEO Rodney W Larson.

John Summerside is a recognised figure in the sign and display sector, having served in various senior roles with Robert Horne Group, where he launched the company’s adhesive and display products business in 1986. He subsequently held director level positions with Buhrmann and PaperlinX, from which he retired in 2007. Since then, he has served several companies in a consultative capacity. He is a former president of the UK’s Digital and Screen Printers’ Association, from which he holds a gold medal of honour, and a director of the European Pressure Sensitive Manufacturers’ Association.

CWE Solutions creates two new roles

Hats off to CWE Solutions, a London based distributor of wide format printers, RIP’s, software and finishing solutions, who has created two new positions and appointed Mark Hollinsworth (left) as operations manager and Ioanna Xenophantes to the role of internal account manager.

Formerly with Metamark, Mr Hollinsworth’s new role sees him taking responsibility for the internal sales team for London and Sheffield as well as the external sales team in London.

Ioanna Xenophantes joins the business from PaperCo, where her position entailed identifying new sales of Roland wide format printers within the commercial print market and design to print sector.

Jeffrey Jacobson named Head of Xerox Global Graphic Communications

Jeffrey JacobsonJeffrey Jacobson, former Chief Executive Officer of Presstek, has been appointed president of Xerox Global Graphic Communications. Jacobson assumes a new role at Xerox that focuses on worldwide strategy, operations, product development, marketing, sales and support of Xerox’s production systems portfolio and related software and workflow offerings.

Presstek’s board of directors has elected Stanley E. Freimuth to replace him as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, effective February 13, 2012.

Mr Freimuth previously spent nearly 25 years with the global imaging giant Fujifilm, where he initially ran the company’s US graphic systems business for 17 years and went on to serve as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, with responsibility for all Fujifilm businesses in the US.

Presstek also announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Arnon Dror Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective February 9, 2012.  Mr. Dror replaces Jeffrey A. Cook, who is leaving the Company to accept a new position.

JCDecaux creates senior client role for Roles

James Roles emailableJCDecaux has appointed James Roles from News International as director of client development. In this newly created senior role, Mr Roles will have a remit across JCDecaux’s portfolio.

Previously Mr Roles was head of client development at News International Limited where he set up and ran the client team across the portfolio of newspapers.  Previous to this, he was head of brand marketing for the Sunday Times and Times. In his earlier career James worked at agencies including BBJ, Saatchi & Saatchi, Universal McCann and OMD.

Reporting to sales managing director Spencer Berwin, he will work closely with the UK and JCDecaux OneWorld sales teams to develop new business and to keep clients abreast of the fast-changing opportunities in the outdoor display market.

Stalam joins X-Rite from Kodak

XRI XRG Vic StalamX-Rite, Incorporated has appointed Vic Stalam as senior vice president of sales and marketing overseeing all sales, marketing and services activities for the Americas and EMEA regions, and serve on X-Rite’s senior leadership team as a corporate officer. Mr Stalam will be based in Grand Rapids, Mich. and report directly to Thomas J. Vacchiano, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of X-Rite.

Most recently, Mr Stalam served as vice president, Commercial Sales in the US and Canada for the Eastman Kodak Company. His team was responsible for selling the complete portfolio of Kodak products and solutions delivering approximately $1 billion in revenue.

During his career at Kodak, he led the teams that built several new businesses such as its Approval, DigiMaster, and Flexo Packaging solutions.
