Epson is launching two new large format printers which the company is describing as offering a combination of accurate colour reproduction with unbeatable productivity. The company says that its 24-inch Epson Stylus Pro 7890 (£2595) and 44-inch (pictured) Epson Stylus Pro 9890 (£5195) have been designed to help the proofing and display graphics markets create accurate prints at high speed and will be commercially available from January 2011.
Both units feature Epson’s 8-colour UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta ink set in combination with the TFP print head which Epson says gives the user enhanced dot quality and crisp, clear images, to produce top-quality results.
Epson goes on to say that these machines achieve one of the highest colour gamut’s on the market with consistently smooth gradations, making them ideal for the perfect reproduction of challenging skin tones and detailed textures.
Both printers come with the option to include an in-line SpectroProofer which helps ensure consistent, repeatable colour accuracy when using different media and enables rapid measuring of control strips and colour charts when creating ICC profiles and print verification results.
Both devices carry photo and matte black inks simultaneously and the built-in rotary knife means prints are cut quickly and cleanly while the improved supply handling means paper rolls are changed effortlessly in seconds.
