The BAPC has launched a really useful Conference website which contains everything you need to know about this year’s conference, particularly the timings for Happy Hour, but moreover what the printing industry’s principal movers and shakers plan to address.
This year I am very keen to hear what my old chum Barney Cox, a senior consultant for InfoTrends, has to say in his talk on ‘The state of the industry’ because before joining InfoTrends, Barney baby held the position of executive editor of PrintWeek magazine and was responsible for the publication’s wide-format coverage of the wide-format market, in particular inkjet technology. Barney is also a bit of a dab hand with an instamatic camera following a stint at the University of Westminster in London where he gained a Bachelor of Science in Photographic and Electronic Imaging Sciences, so you could always ask him to come and ‘do’ your wedding.
Another of our old drinking pals is Kevin O'Donnell from Xerox who is set to give a talk about ‘The missing opportunities’ for printers. Having heard Kevin speak at numerous events down the years, I am predicting that this will be highly thought provoking and you are practically guaranteed to come away with at least one very good idea that you hadn’t thought of before about how you can boost the profitability of your printing business.
Kevin will be followed Simon Casajuana, an expert in wide format printing, who show you how you can profit from wide format printing. Simon is somewhat of a wild card in the drinking stakes but seeing as he is a he is a near neighbour of the editor and as such a regular in our local pub, he comes to this year’s Conference with a reasonable chance of holding his own in the running. Let’s hope he doesn’t falter at the bar.
The Specialist’s panel is headed by Paddy McGonigle, Print Monthly’s online editor. Paddy is fully trained broadcast and print journalist, so you might think he could hold his own in the boozing stakes. Alas this has proved to be not the case as he was beaten into submission trying to hold his own up against the mighty Rioja Mike Bolton from Roland’s wide format premium partner of the year, printMAX.
Therefore don’t delay, telephone your reservation today on +44(0)20 8736 5862 and if you quote Graphic Display World, new members will be rewarded with a year’s free BAPC membership.
