Hampshire Flag Company is playing a key part in the promotion of next year’s FISA World Rowing Junior Championships thanks to the production of two feather flags.

The UK based flag manufacturer donated the 2.4m single-sided feather flags, along with spike and x-bases, to British Rowing - the sport’s governing body - for a series of events this summer held to encourage volunteers and spectators to attend the Championships at Eton Dorney in August 2011.

The feather flags were taken to the Henley Women’s Regatta, the National Schools Regatta and the British Rowing Championships in Strathclyde to raise awareness of the date and to encourage spectators not to book holidays during 4-7 August next year.

Di Ellis (pictured), CBE, Chairman of British Rowing says: ““The World Rowing Junior Championships is an exciting and once in a lifetime opportunity for many of this country’s young athletes. We are delighted with the impact the feather flags have had and we are extremely grateful for Hampshire Flag’s generosity.”

Hampshire Flag’s team of 21 produces hand-sewn national and international flags and digitally printed banners. The company also offers a bespoke flag design service, PVC banners, marine flags, bunting, table flags, exhibition graphics and event systems in addition to the supply and installation an extensive range of flagpoles. Its prestigious portfolio of clients includes Selfridges, the BBC, Channel 4, Portsmouth Football Club, IBM and British Airways.

The company provides on-going support for various charities and expeditions including Action for Kids, Samaritans and for swimmer and environmentalist Lewis Pugh’s on-going feats.

My forty year selling career started because an Italian company, Olivetti, invested in training me in the early 70’s. I went from being a bank clerk to an office equipment salesman via a month’s residential course at their Hampshire training centre. Over the next few years, I spent several more ...
